Welcome to my
little piece of real estate on the wild, wild Web that I call
Amazing Home Business. I call it that mainly because it has
been an amazing journey starting and promoting this home based
business. I am sure it will continue to be an amazing journey
as this business evolves and becomes something uniquely suited
to each day's challenges in the home business arena.
This page is
for those of you who are curious about the person behind the
web page. After all, why should you do anything here without
knowing that a real person exists? And that that person is
honest and trustworthy? I know I want to know those things
about the people I choose to do business with. I can tell you
that I am honest and trustworthy but why should you believe
me? The only way I can think of to demonstrate that is to
tell you about me.
My name is
Cynthia Parker. Everyone I know calls me Cindi. I don't
actually respond to "Cynthia" very well. I look around like
"What? Who are your talking to?" I am a Mom. I have
two wonderful daughters, both grown up with children of their
own. And I have six wonderful grandchildren. There are two
girls and four boys. They range in age from four to twelve.
I live with one daughter and her son and two Shih Tzus. The
Shih Tzus are certain that my sole purpose in life is to wait
on them - hand and paw.
Professionally, I am an accountant. I have worked for the
last thirty plus years for the local hospital. During the
course of my career there, I worked in almost every position
in the business end of healthcare that there is. I started
out as a visitor's receptionist and worked my way through the
admitting and the business offices to Chief Financial Officer
and Corporate Compliance Officer. I guess you could say that
I am an expert in the business of healthcare.
Now, I am
ready to retire in a year or so and on my way to being some
other kind of expert! Like so many of us Baby Boomers, I want
to retire early and live the "Life of Riley". And I want to
continue to make useful contributions to my family and
friends. This is the medium that I have chosen to share my
experiences and what I have learned and am learning along the
way. My goal to is help as many people get what they want as
I can.
I am not a
big poetry fan, but this particular poem spoke to me so loudly
that I paid more than I ever would for a purple sweatshirt
just because this poem is on the front. In reading it, you
will learn something of me.
When I Am An Old Woman
by
Jenny Joseph ~ Written out by Elizabeth Lucas
I
shall wear purple
With
a red hat which doesn't go and
doesn't suite me,
And I
shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And
satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I
shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And
gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And
run my stick along the public railings
And
make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I
shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And
pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And
learn to spit.
You
can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And
eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or
only bread and pickle for a week
And
hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But
now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And
pay our rent and not swear in the street
And
set a good example for the children.
We
will have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But
maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So
people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When
suddenly I am old and start to wear purple.
